Hours: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM US Pacific Time (Mandatory Sync Hours when fully engaged, Monday to Friday)
Target Workload: 25-40 hours/week after integration

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, remote Financial Operations Specialist / Accountant with a strong background in U.S. accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial analysis to support the financial management needs of our law firm. The ideal candidate will not only handle the core responsibilities but also take a high degree of ownership for the financial success and health of the firm. This includes identifying process improvements, finding cost-saving opportunities, enhancing systems, and engaging in continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Bookkeeping:
• General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring all transactions are appropriately categorized and reconciled.
• Bookkeeping: Handle accounts receivable/payable, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
• Monthly Financial Close: Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
Invoicing and Billing:
• Client Invoicing: Prepare and issue client invoices using the firm’s software.
• Accounts Receivable Follow-Up: Track and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Billing Accuracy: Verify invoices and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Financial Statements: Prepare monthly and quarterly reports (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).
• Financial Analysis: Provide insights on firm performance, profitability, and expense management.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with financial projections and planning.
Compliance and Planning:
• Tax Preparation Support: Collaborate with tax preparers, ensuring all necessary data is available for filings.
• Cost and Strategic Analysis: Recommend ways to optimize firm resources and identify cost savings.
Administrative Support:
• Documentation of Processes: Maintain and improve financial documentation.
• Firm Communication: Liaise between the finance team and other departments.
Miscellaneous Support:
• Financial Management: Assist with a variety of finance, accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or financial related tasks/matters as required.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably for U.S.-based businesses.
• Skills:
o Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
o Advanced Excel skills.
o Strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles.
o Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to prioritize tasks.
• Technology:
o Requrirement: You are expected to provide/maintain: high-speed internet, strong computer, quality microphone, video camera, and lighting on face.
