Voice Actor for Animated Comedy Pilot – Recorded in NJ

Hi, I am producing a pilot for an animated comedy I wrote, and I’m looking for voice actors who can record at a studio in New Jersey.

The tone of the show is silly and absurd, and it’s set in a public library.

Three Main Characters:

Janet Gargoni (40’s; White) – Janet fancies herself a disruptive tech CEO rather than the director of a public library. As a wannabe visionary, she is always trying wild ideas to carve out her legacy.

Liz Escobar (30’s; Latino) – Liz is the Manager of Lending Services, and is the voice of reason among the chaos. She is frustrated by the old ways of doing things, and is constantly fighting for progress.

Mona Scorniff (50ish; White) – Mona has been the Head Librarian of Adult Services for two decades, and hates all of the changes people have been making to libraries lately. She is inflexible, professional, and believes customer service is beneath the sacred duties of a librarian.

Secondary Roles:

Hector (30ish; Latino) is the goofy book lover at the Checkout Desk. Despite his awkwardness and constant misunderstandings, his passion for the library and helping others makes him a valuable asset.

Howie (40ish; White) is a librarian who works behind the scenes. He avoids customer interactions as much as possible, and his Friday night usually consists of cozying up with a good book and a mug of Sleepytime Tea. He is secretly in love with Liz, but too shy to do anything about it.

Roles:

Liz – $250
Mona – $250
Janet – $250

Hector – $150
Barbara – $50
Howie – $50

Alex – $10
Bathroom Guy – $25
Polite Customer – $25
Pushy Customer – $25
Frantic Customer – $10
Monk – $10

The payment is a flat fee for each part, which includes a read-through on Zoom, and a recording session in the studio.

Voice actors can play multiple roles, and will most likely be asked to play bit parts for small additional payments.

Please include which characters you would be interested in playing, and I can give you some lines for an audition tape.

A recording date has not been set, but it will most likely be on a weekend. The studio will be determined by everyone’s schedule and locations.

This job is for a pilot. Hopefully, there will be more episodes, additional characters, and it will be a recurring show.

If you have any questions please let me know, and I look forward to hearing from you!
