Full-Stack Flutter Developer with Firebase Expertise (Flexible Hours)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and flexible freelancer to help our invention house develop and refine our existing mobile application using Flutter/Dart and Firebase. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a modular, well-documented codebase for both the front-end and back-end functionalities. This is a part-time, flexible position with room to grow as the project evolves and other projects are started.

Scope of Work:

Mobile App Development: Add functionality and extend an already existing mobile application (in great shape) using Flutter/Dart, ensuring compatibility across iOS and Android devices.
Backend Development: Set up and maintain Firebase backend services, including database design, authentication, cloud functions, and integration with the mobile app.
Server Connections: Establish robust and secure connections between the app and Firebase, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
Modular Code: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code to make future updates and maintenance straightforward.
GitHub Management: Use GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

The first product / application you will work on is this: www.thecoolerpro.com. The position will be to extend the application you see on the website to add features, then connect it to a Firebase server.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in Flutter/Dart mobile app development.
Strong knowledge of Firebase services (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Authentication, etc.).
Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
Familiarity with GitHub for version control.
Demonstrated ability to write modular and maintainable code.
Strong communication skills to provide regular updates and address questions.
Understanding of low level bits and bytes. Bit manipulations are occasionally required.

Preferred Traits:

Willingness to work flexible hours as needed (some weeks more hours, some weeks less).
Proactive problem solver who can troubleshoot and improve existing solutions.
Ability to work collaboratively when needed while also taking ownership of tasks.

Timeline and Delivery:

We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible. The timeline for deliverables will be flexible and discussed based on the scope of work and your availability. Quality is more important than speed.

Potential for More Work:

This project is just the beginning. If you demonstrate the expertise and collaboration we’re seeking, there will likely be ongoing work as we expand the app’s functionality and features.

If you have experience integrating Firebase with Flutter apps, please highlight specific projects. Include code samples or links to GitHub repositories if possible. Let us know your hourly rate and availability.

To be considered for this position, you will be required to:

* Be located in the USA. You will be developing for custom embedded hardware devices, and frequent shipping will typically be required.
* Sign a non-disclosure agreement
* Sign a work for hire agreement that includes assignment of any potential patent rights for the project on which you will work for our firm
* Be willing to do a video interview to prove you are who you say you are
* Provide applicable education. Degree in Computer Science is highly preferred.
* Provide example source code for code you have written
* Perform the work yourself – we do not hire middlemen or agencies – only individual developers may apply
* Prove you know what you say you know (Provide a link to your GitHUB account with verifiable commits over a period of time, pass a technical skills test, etc.)

This is a longer interview process than for a two hour gig, you will need to prove you are trustworthy and that you have what it takes. In return, you will be rewarded with working with fun peeps on lots of fun projects over the long term.
