We are a web design and marketing agency building an innovative hybrid headless WordPress site. This project will integrate traditional WordPress functionality with modern technology, leveraging Gatsby.js to serve static content for enhanced speed, SEO, and performance.
We’re seeking a mid-level developer with experience in headless CMS architectures to work as a key contributor alongside our in-house team. This role involves both backend WordPress development and front-end integration with Gatsby.js, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement a hybrid setup for WordPress and Gatsby.js.
Integrate WordPress via REST API or GraphQL (using WPGraphQL).
Develop reusable components and templates for the Gatsby front end.
Optimize site performance for speed and SEO.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges across both traditional WordPress and static site environments.
Collaborate on technical decisions and ensure seamless functionality between traditional and headless components.
Required Skills:
Strong WordPress Expertise:
Custom theme and plugin development.
Familiarity with REST API and WPGraphQL.
Gatsby.js and React:
Experience building websites using Gatsby.js or similar frameworks.
Proficiency in React.js.
Web Development Fundamentals:
HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Knowledge of SEO best practices.
Version Control:
Familiarity with Git for collaborative development.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience deploying to platforms like Netlify, Vercel, or similar.
Knowledge of TailwindCSS or SCSS for modern styling.
Familiarity with Node.js for Gatsby.js customizations.
Previous experience with hybrid WordPress setups.
