I created a VM on Google Cloud and installed Ubuntu and Ubuntu Desktop on it. Then I set up Chrome Remote Desktop. After this stage, whenever I do one of the following two actions, I can no longer access the VM—neither via SSH nor Chrome Remote Desktop:
After stopping and then starting the VM instance again, I cannot access it anymore.
After taking a machine image and bringing the machine back online, I still can’t access it.
What I want to do is:
Regain access to the VM that I currently cannot reach. Right now, I have stopped the VM since I can’t access it.
Take periodic backups of the new VM I created and be able to run it whenever I want.
