We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting firm as a part-time Bookkeeper. As a bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in supporting our team and ensuring accurate financial record keeping for our construction contractor clients. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple construction contractor clients.
– Record and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
– Generate financial reports and statements, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
– Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry regulations, and client-specific requirements.
– Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for audits and provide necessary support during the process.
– Communicate effectively with clients to address their inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide financial insights.
– Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting practices to ensure compliance and optimize processes.
Qualifications:
– 5 years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably within a public accounting firm or in the construction industry.
– Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
– Proficiency in popular accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
– Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
– Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple clients and meet deadlines.
– Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
– A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
