I’m looking for someone to handle my event planning from start to finish on a project-by-project basis. I host everything from small, intimate gatherings centered around food in my home to larger events for my podcast community, which focuses on mental health topics. Examples include hosting hikes and community-focused gatherings.
In 2025, I plan to expand into more community events and increase the number of events I host, mainly revolving around food. This person must be creative, resourceful, and capable of doing big things on a small budget. You should know how to be scrappy, bring fresh ideas to the table, and ideally have connections in the event or hospitality industry. Living in Los Angeles is A HUGE PLUS.
Compensation will be determined per project. For example, a small launch party for 20 people might pay $200. We’ll discuss pricing before each project to ensure clarity and fairness.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Strategy & Execution: Plan and execute intimate gatherings and community events that align with the overarching vision.
Creative Development: Conceptualize unique event themes and experiences, particularly centered around food and community.
Logistics Management: Handle venue scouting, vendor coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and attendee management.
Budgeting: Work within a budget to create impactful events, finding creative ways to maximize resources.
Community Engagement: Develop events that foster connection and support mental health initiatives.
Event Coordination: Manage all aspects of event execution, including setup, on-site coordination, and breakdown.
Sponsorships (Preferred): Ability to secure sponsorships to bring in additional funding for events, which could also increase your compensation.
Post-Event Analysis: Collect feedback and assess event success to improve future planning.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in event planning or coordination, with a strong portfolio of intimate and community-focused events.
Creativity and resourcefulness, with the ability to deliver high-quality results on a limited budget.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Existing relationships with vendors, venues, or industry professionals (a plus).
Experience securing event sponsorships (preferred).
Based in Los Angeles or willing to travel (preferred but not required).
