I’m searching for one or more lawyers licensed in Malaysia to help with hiring independent contractors for my publishing business in the United States.
I have a variety of questions related to employment (eg. worker classification), intellectual property (eg. assignment of copyrights), and taxes (eg. VAT, permanent establishment).
I will also need an independent contractor agreement (or to modify the one I have now for workers in the US).
I have a specific candidate in mind who lives and works in Malaysia as an illustrator. My goal is for both of us to be compliant with all local laws. I’m hoping to move forward with her during January.
