KEY ROLE: XERO RECONCILIATION (OR QUICKBOOKS)
FULL TIME POSITION:
Business hours are generally 9a-9p HST
We are not suggesting you need to work 12hr days but we are looking for someone with Full time availability during those hours.
We are looking for a virtual assistant with bookkeeping knowledge that can support a growing startup in the real estate, vacation rental space.
We are using Xero but want to move to Quickbooks. Certification is not required but attention to detail and being able to efficiently use the software is required.
We are looking for someone with strong data entry (accuracy) abilities but also adaptable to a variety of other tasks.

-Reliable and can work without much supervision. We will give guidelines and share ideas and expectations, though.

-Is VERY adaptable and flexible to adjust to changes. We are constantly evolving and looking to improve and not afraid to change for the better. If you like rigid guidelines and need consistency in the way you work, this is NOT for you.
-Is able to learn software easily and efficiently (we will also guide you).
-POSITIVE ATTITUDE, HIGH ENERGY, HIGH ENTHUSIASM. We want to UPLIFT each other as we build a company.
-HARDWORKING, CAPABLE, OPEN TO NEW IDEAS.
In general, we want someone who is adaptable, versatile, and willing to learn new skills.

-XERO OR QUICKBOOK EXPERIENCE
-DATA ENTRY
-MANAGING REPORTS
-RECEIPTS ORGANIZATION
Note: The founder is very picky and has a standard of excellence that you may or may not be used to. We need someone that’s very good at taking feedback and pushes themselves to be excellent in their work.
All hires start with a two-week trial. We want to make sure you’re a good fit for us and vice versa as we tend to do our best to take care of our staff once fully hired.
ATTITUDE: SEEKING POSITIVE, UPBEAT and FUN personality. This is the company culture and even though we work very hard at the highest level, we do want a team that can also enjoy virtual activities together.
TIPS: Founder seriously hates typos and lack of punctuality. Poor writing skills aren’t acceptable. No need to apply if you’re prone to typing errors or if you’re chronically late.
OTHER TIPS:
-If you’re unorganized, sloppy, lack attention to detail, are sensitive to critical feedback, this is not a good fit.
-Do not apply if you’re not available during business hours. General business hours are universally 9a-5p. We are okay to deviate alittle from this but 1a-7a is not business hours.
-Do not apply if your proposal hourly rate exceeds this post. We start everyone off the same and then compensate appropriately as we see fit. There’s room for growth but and higher pay but it’s performance based.
-If anything is unclear, ask for clarification versus making assumptions.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills are very important
DO NOT USE CHATGPT! Chatgpt is a great tool but when trying to evaluate candidate writing skills, it’s very hard to evaluate when candidates are using AI. Using grammarly is fine.
