Top Billing Entertainment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in accrual accounting to join our team. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, tracking our organization’s expenses and revenues, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of our nonprofit and enabling us to fulfill our mission effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions using accrual accounting methods in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
Track accounts payable and accounts receivable, and ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial statements monthly.
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
Support the budget development process by providing detailed financial reports and tracking expenses against the budget.
Assist in preparing for audits, tax filings, and other financial reviews as required.
Maintain records for restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and other designated accounts.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial data and assist with any ad hoc financial projects.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and internal financial policies.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and Excel; experience with accrual accounting is required. Knowledge of Dance Studio Pro a plus but not required.
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and experience handling restricted funds is highly preferred.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders.
Additional Information
Hours: Minimum of 5 up to 20 per week depending on the season
Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience
