My wife and I are experienced remodelers in Atlanta, Georgia. We have a new addition project coming up (~400 square feet) and need a great architect or draftsman/draftswoman to prepare the drawings for permitting.
We already have a set of CAD files with the as-builts along with a 3D exterior visualization of the current house via an app called “hover.” You can take the CAD files, recreate the current house and double check with the hover measurements, incorporate our survey, and then take our feedback to draw the addition. This may take a few iterations, but the addition is relatively simple.
Output will be 2D drawings and 3D visualizations for permitting, including the site plan and the first draft of the framing plan. Your plans will then go to a structural engineer for review (exported via AutoCAD) and he will modify the framing plan, provide his stamp, and then we will submit for the permit.
Over the next few months, we may need some modifications to satisfy permitting requirements.
Experience in the US with submitting drawings for the permitting process is very important to us, though it certainly doesn’t have to be the state of Georgia. We’re also looking for quick turnarounds (2 business days or less) on small changes and the ability to do videocalls together while we iterate on the design. Thank you!
To decide on the right candidate, we are looking for someone who:
– Has strong reviews on Upwork
– Has done recent similar projects and can show that clearly in a portfolio
– Is able to do this project in the new few weeks
– Would like to work together over the coming years (1-2 projects per year)
– Is proficient enough in English to have clear written and audio/verbal communication
