Construction Bookkeeper / Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant with a strong background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience in managing construction financials, certified payroll, and public works projects. This role involves organizing and maintaining our financial records and establishing efficient, ongoing bookkeeping practices.

Responsibilities:
*Review, organize, and clean up existing financial records
*Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable
*Ensure accurate and timely job costing and budget tracking
*Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects
*Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and maintain general ledger integrity
*Collaborate with our team to ensure compliance with construction-specific financial regulations
*Provide monthly financial statements and reporting for management review
*Work closely with project managers to track expenses and maintain profitability

Qualifications:
*5+ years of experience as a bookkeeper or accountant in the construction industry
*Familiarity with certified payroll, public works job requirements, and prevailing wage compliance
*Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
*In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing
*Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
