Creative WordPress Developer with Attention to Detail

NO AGENCIES PLEASE. We are looking to work with an individual for this project

Spark Intel Group, Inc., a leading data analytics and AI firm, is seeking a skilled and experienced WordPress Developer to join our fast-growing team. The project is approximately 60% complete, and we need someone to take the existing work and push us across the finish line. Most of the designs are ready, but we may need your guidance to tweak a few of the child pages for cohesive alignment with the home page. If this project is successful, we would like to bring you on part-time to support us on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to finalize and deliver a feature-rich, responsive website.
Ensure the website is optimized for performance, security, and SEO, following best practices.
Translate business and user requirements into well-architected WordPress solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., designers using Figma) to finalize and adjust child pages as needed, ensuring consistency with the home page design.
Manage the technical aspects of the CMS, ensuring optimal site performance, security, and regular updates.
Integrate third-party tools and APIs to enhance website functionality (e.g., CRM, email marketing, analytics, payment gateways).
Proactively identify and solve issues related to site performance, scalability, and security.
Requirements (Please read carefully):

5+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development with a strong portfolio (please provide links to live websites).
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with experience in building custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Solid understanding of SEO principles and website performance optimization (page speed, caching, etc.).
Experience with modern tools such as Elementor, Gutenberg, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
Strong knowledge of security best practices in WordPress (e.g., implementing SSL, securing logins).
Familiarity with integrating various APIs (CRM, payment gateways, analytics tools, etc.).
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously, troubleshoot problems, and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills—capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Available to work at least 2 hours during the CST time zone and able to consistently meet deadlines.
Our Ideal Candidate:

You’ve built complex WordPress websites, not just simple blogs or landing pages—mention specific custom development projects.
You’ve worked in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects—tell us how you juggle these in your cover letter.
You’ve contributed to open-source projects, published insights, or regularly engage with the WordPress community—highlight this in your application.
You identify and provide solutions before problems arise—if something isn’t working, you don’t wait for direction.
Preferred (but not required):

Experience working on AI-driven platforms or data visualization dashboards.
Familiarity with design tools like Figma for collaboration with design teams.
Experience with WordPress multisite or large-scale platforms.
Application Instructions:

Start your cover letter with the phrase “Building with Precision” so we know you’ve read the full job description.
Include a link to your WordPress portfolio with examples of custom themes, plugins, or large-scale sites.
