Job Description:
I am looking for a detail-oriented individual to help me categorize and analyze data from bank statement files. The statements are provided in text format (PDF), and the task involves accurately categorizing transaction details into types such as Spend vs. Deposit, and highlighting specific types of transactions (such as liquor and smoke store purchases).
Key Responsibilities:
Review and extract transaction data from provided text/PDF files.
Categorize transactions into “Spend” and “Deposit” categories.
Identify and tag specific transactions related to liquor stores and smoke shops.
Provide summary statistics, including total spend, average spend, and counts of tagged transactions.
Skills Required:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience working with financial data or similar structured data.
Ability to handle non-standard document formats and ensure consistency in categorization.
Deliverables:
A spreadsheet or document that lists categorized transactions.
Summary report including spend statistics and tagged transactions.
Additional Information:
The current data has irregular formatting, which has made categorization challenging. A freelancer with experience in reviewing bank statements or similar financial documents will be preferred.
