We are looking for a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to assist in optimizing and managing our cloud-based VPN setup and configuring VS Code Remote Development for our development teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable remote access to our cloud infrastructure while enabling seamless development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud VPN Management:
Design, implement, and maintain a secure VPN in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or other).
Configure and optimize VPN connections for remote developers.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure consistent VPN performance.
Maintain access control policies and monitor VPN activity for security compliance.
VS Code Remote Development Setup:
Configure and set up VS Code Remote Development using Remote SSH for distributed teams.
Establish secure connections to remote servers for development purposes.
Ensure smooth integration with version control systems like Git.
Provide documentation and training for developers to use the setup effectively.
Automation and Infrastructure Management:
Use tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code (IaC).
Automate repetitive tasks related to VPN and remote development setups.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with developers to address connectivity and tooling issues.
Document processes and best practices for maintaining the VPN and VS Code configurations.
Provide guidance on secure coding practices and access management.
Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor VPN usage and remote server performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
Optimize configurations for speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
