Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced formula chemist with expertise in developing mineral-based sunscreens to consult on the formulation of our sunscreen stick. Our product is specifically tailored for golfers, requiring high-performance features such as non-greasy application, long-lasting protection, and compatibility with active, outdoor use.
Responsibilities:
• Review and refine our current sunscreen formula or develop a new one based on our requirements.
• Ensure the formula adheres to FDA regulations and is compliant with relevant sunscreen standards (e.g., reef-safe, cruelty-free).
• Consult on the inclusion of SPF 50+ protection using mineral filters such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
• Provide guidance on optimizing the formula for a smooth, non-greasy application.
• Advise on the feasibility of production for 15mL stick containers and the stability of the formula in this format.
• Suggest or verify clean, eco-friendly ingredients to align with our brand’s sustainability values.
• Answer technical questions related to formulation, testing, and production.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in sunscreen or cosmetic formulation, particularly with mineral-based sunscreen products.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic chemistry and regulations (e.g., FDA guidelines, global compliance if applicable).
• Familiarity with the formulation of solid or stick-based sunscreens.
• Strong understanding of clean beauty trends and eco-friendly ingredients.
• Excellent communication skills for consulting and providing actionable insights.
