Our small team has built an iOS app now in TestFlight with Swift/SwiftUI that works as a digital whiteboard. It has PencilKit integrated directly into the UI for handwriting with Apple Pencil, and there are features for uploading images to the canvas and editing them. The target end user is a teacher or online tutor using the app to teach math to one or more students.
We have also been building a special tool that sets the app apart from other digital whiteboards on the market by using images or handwritten text to automatically generate graphs of math equations. On the backend, this involves a JavaScript API, integration with our server, and a third-party OCR app that converts LaTeX into JavaScript.
Part of the backend was built in Python, but our developer has been transitioning everything to JavaScript to allow for integration with p5.js, which we use for creating visualizations.
We are looking for a developer with expertise in iOS development to help refine the app and address the problems we’re facing. Your role will include:
* Updating the app UI with Swift and SwiftUI
* Assisting backend developers in implementing graphing feature
* Guiding app through App Store Connect and TestFlight requirements
* Debugging and improving existing features and app stability
* Optimizing workflows for seamless user experience
Qualifications:
* Proven experience with iOS development (i.e. Swift and SwiftUI) for a minimum of two years
* Ability to guide an app through the Apple ecosystem (provisioning profile, certificates, keys, etc)
* Proven experience with network layers and API/server integration
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
