Metanorma maintains an Apache FOP fork that provides preliminary support to vertical text layout used by CJK languages.
The tasks to perform are:

Delivery must be with proper tests and documentation such that the PRs are “good enough” for upstreaming (i.e. explains reasoning for the solutions, and considerations of why the implementation approach works better).
Criteria:
* You must have experience with using Apache FOP
* You must have some experience with Apache FOP code
