We’re looking for an experienced professional to help us identify and resolve issues related to suspicious webcrawler or bot traffic on our Shopify store. These abnormal traffic patterns are causing inaccurate analytics, skewed performance metrics, and ultimately a negative impact on our sales. We need a specialist who can detect, mitigate, and prevent this malicious traffic, ensuring a seamless experience for legitimate customers.
Responsibilities:
– Analyze site logs, user behavior, and analytics to detect and quantify bot traffic.
– Identify vulnerabilities within the Shopify environment and apps that may be targeted by bots or automated scripts.
– Implement bot detection and mitigation solutions (e.g., reCAPTCHA, firewall rules, IP blocking, specialized Shopify apps, or custom configurations).
– Optimize site performance while reducing false positives and ensuring legitimate customers are not mistakenly blocked.
– Monitor traffic and analytics post-implementation to confirm that the solution is effective and that legitimate traffic and sales conversions are restored.
– Provide a concise report summarizing the issues found, solutions implemented, and recommended ongoing best practices to prevent future bot attacks.
Must have:
– Proven experience with Shopify’s architecture, security best practices, and third-party apps.
– Proficiency in analyzing Google Analytics or similar platforms to detect anomalies and suspicious activity.
– Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and present clear, actionable solutions.
