Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Translator & Copywriter with native proficiency in European Portuguese to join our team. This role will support our social media efforts for a prominent hotel in Portugal, focusing on translating captions from English to Portuguese, creating engaging content for Instagram, and managing our community by responding to comments and direct messages from guests and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Translation: Translate English captions and other content into engaging, culturally relevant Portuguese (European) for Instagram posts.
Copywriting: Develop creative and engaging copy for social media posts, particularly Instagram, that aligns with the hotel’s brand voice.
Community Management: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and guest inquiries on Instagram in a timely, friendly, and professional manner.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all written content aligns with the brand’s tone, style, and objectives, enhancing the hotel’s appeal to a Portuguese-speaking audience.
Social Media Trends: Follow the latest social media trends in Portugal to optimize content relevance and engagement.
Collaboration: Work closely with the social media team to maintain a cohesive and engaging presence across our Instagram profile.
Key Requirements:
Native Portuguese Speaker (European): Fluent in Portuguese with excellent command of English.
Experience in Translation: Proven experience translating English content into Portuguese, focusing on capturing nuances and cultural relevance.
Copywriting Skills: Strong copywriting skills for social media, particularly Instagram, with an eye for concise, engaging captions.
Social Media Familiarity: Familiarity with Instagram’s features, best practices, and trends, specifically within the Portuguese market.
Community Management Experience: Experience in social media community management, including replying to comments and managing direct messages with excellent customer service skills.
Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail in translation accuracy, grammar, and brand consistency.
Skills Needed:
Language Skills: Native proficiency in European Portuguese; advanced proficiency in English.
Writing and Editing: Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft engaging, on-brand copy that is clear, concise, and compelling.

Preferred Qualifications:
Hospitality or Tourism Experience: Previous experience working with brands in the hospitality or tourism sector.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in translation, copywriting, or social media management.
Proven experience managing social media communications for a brand, ideally in the hospitality or tourism industry.
